Peter Helm

Research Associate

Peter Helm

Dr Peter Helm is a geotechnical engineer and engineering geologist with experience in the computer modelling of shallow mining subsidence, and significant experience of the hydrological and mechanical modelling of slopes and slope stability.

Peter is currently employed as a research associate within the UKRI and DfT funded research hub for Decarbonised Adaptable and Resilient Transport Infrastructures (DARe) where he works to address transport infrastructure resilience.

Focus on DARe

Peter’s work will focus on infrastructure resilience through improved understanding of long-term weather driven deterioration and how this may be affected by climate change. His work will also examine how differing intervention measures may act to increase resilience.
