Ning Pan

Research Associate

Ning Pan

Ning is a Research Associate in Infrastructure Asset Management, Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory.

Her research focuses on transportation engineering, particularly in the application of information technologies. This includes infrastructure asset performance sensing, assessment, and modelling; integrating emerging machine learning algorithms to enhance asset operations and maintenance; and generating and updating transportation infrastructure digital twins. She also has practical engineering experience in establishing intelligent analytic frameworks, methodologies, and decision-support tools to incorporate spatiotemporal decision-making processes into the operation of transportation systems by utilising multi-source data and domain knowledge.

Focus on DARe

At DARe, Dr Ning Pan will contribute to the development of whole-life value-based performance models for critical infrastructure assets and systems.

Ning’s work will involve creating algorithms to model the impact of complex scenarios on the performance and behaviour of infrastructure assets, as well as devising strategies to optimise their whole-life cost and performance.
