Research Associate

Si Chen

Dr Si Chen is a Research Associate in Autonomous Systems & Connectivity at the University of Glasgow.

Her research explores multi-vector energy system modelling, considering the coupling of energy with transport and heat decarbonisation. With a background in Electrical Engineering and Risk and Uncertainty, her research interests also focus on statistical modelling and energy demand prediction. Si has experience in model calibration and uncertainty quantification.

Previously, Si worked as an R&D engineer at the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), where she delivered industry-facing projects that bridged the gap between academic research and real-world applications. Si is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Si’s research interests include:

  • Multi-vector energy system modelling
  • Risk and uncertainty analysis
  • Applications of AI

Focus on DARe

On the DARe Hub, Dr Si Chen will focus on whole system modelling of transport-energy networks to support i) adaptation, ii) accelerated decarbonisation, and iii) resilience. Her expertise and experience stem from the perspectives of energy systems modelling and uncertainty quantification (UQ).
