Yimeng Liu

Dr Yimeng Liu is a Research Associate and GIScientist, with research interests including the intersection of urban flooding and transportation systems, with a particular emphasis on adaptation and resilience strategies.

Yimeng’s research is dedicated to understanding and mitigating the effects of extreme weather events on urban transportation networks. During her PhD, she established a framework of the integration of flood and traffic models to assess the potential disruptions on the road traffic caused by flooding, and to evaluate the effectiveness of various adaptation measures.

Focus on DARe

On DARe, Yimeng will contribute to developing a modelling framework aimed at quantifying and comparing the costs and benefits of different adaptation options, to assist in building a decarbonised and resilient future transportation network. Within WP2, she focuses on extreme weather hazard simulation, integration of flood and transport models, and cost-benefit analysis of adaptation options.
