Yusra Mustafa is a Transport Systems Engineer and Chevening Scholar, having recently completed her MSc in Transportation Engineering, Planning and Management at Newcastle University. Her master’s research focused on crowd management and passenger flow analysis in metro stations, aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency through data-driven approaches.
Yusra has over five years of professional experience in metro operations, safety management, and sustainable mobility planning, having worked at Pakistan’s first metro rail system (OLMRTS). Throughout her career, she has led multidisciplinary teams, coordinated large-scale maintenance activities, and achieved measurable improvements in service reliability and compliance. She also gained international exposure through an internship at the United Nations Office at Geneva, contributing to work on sustainable transport and infrastructure resilience.
