“Data is the new oil”, but our reliance on a carbon-based transport system must be quashed. Climate change already poses significant threats to the entire of the UK’s transport infrastructure: from our cyber and physical infrastructure, vehicles, and supply chains, to the health and livelihoods of communities. To achieve a climate-resilient and decarbonised road and rail system, we must harness the power of data to inform decision-making and planning, better understand risks and vulnerabilities, and guide us towards a net zero future.
