Webinar: Deterioration in infrastructure - strategies for ageing transport assets

Event Information

  • Location:
    Online (Zoom)
  • Date and Time:
    Thursday 17 July 12-1pm (BST)
Webinar live recording

Transport infrastructure is vulnerable to deterioration under cyclic vehicle and weather-driven loading. How can we build better understanding of this material degradation, in order to predict future capacity, determine management strategies and maximise remaining service life?

Join us for an informative webinar hosted by Dr Sam Cocking (University of Cambridge), with guest speakers Dr Ze Zhou Wang (University of Cambridge) and Dr Chris Power (Mott MacDonald).

In this webinar we will explore topics including:

  • Challenges in measuring historic and ongoing deterioration, to understand real structural capacity
  • Current best practice and emerging trends in non-destructive testing and modelling, to estimate as-is material properties
  • Predictive modelling of future performance
  • Understanding the potential impacts of future climate scenarios
  • Improving our observation of deterioration using new and emerging technologies
