Meeting of minds: DARe team convene in Newcastle

Roberto Palacin, DARe Hub Co-Director addressing the team

The DARe Hub’s eighth Full Team Meeting took place on 12th June 2025, just one day after the busy DARe Researcher Conference. Held in the Stephenson Building at Newcastle University, the meeting brought together academics from DARe’s five partner universities for a day of focused collaboration and shaping the Hub’s Integrated Case Studies. Among the discussions was a detailed session to inform the upcoming Co-Creation Workshop in Cambridge on 26th June 2025.

It’s really inspiring to see the strength and diversity of expertise across the DARe Hub team. Bringing together researchers from five universities allows us to tackle the complex trilemma facing our future transport systems – how to make infrastructure decarbonised, adaptable, and resilient – and today’s meeting really demonstrated the power of that collaboration.

Now 22 months into its journey, the DARe Hub continues to grow in momentum. In-person meetings like this one are invaluable for strengthening working relationships and building understanding between interdisciplinary team members. They also offer a great opportunity to welcome new members and lay the groundwork for activities in the next few months.
